Some web sites present a different “header” in certain sections of the site. The header is the top section of your website that usually does not change much for every page of your site. But sometimes, you may need a variation. For example, you might have a web page reserved for logged-in users that presents specific content. You also might instead want a different header when your visitors are in your Shopping Cart.
You may also want improvements made to an existing header so that it shrinks when visitors scroll down the page. You may want to incorporate promotional banners and on-sale items in your header. Or you may want to have a special minimal header that blends in with the backgrounds on the initial page presented.
The menu system used for your site is often a key component in the header. Menu’s vary from simple to extremely complex so we often will need to evaluate this before quoting.
If you have seen WordPress blogs on the web, then you know that often there is a ‘sidebar’ area where the ‘posts’ are categorized and a menu is displayed to the visitor so that they can read additional ‘posts’. Typically sidebars are used for adding important functionality to more than one page. Some sidebars can display horizontally – this is often used for ‘breadcrumbs’ for example. Sidebars are configured with separate functional parts, called ‘widgets’. You can add any number of widgets to a sidebar. Widgets are powerful tools and provide the functionality for sub-menus, breadcrumbs, featured pages, popular posts, calendars, login prompts, maps, images, contact info, YouTube channel galleries, social icons with followers, subscribers, and likes counts, etc. Please note however, some premium widgets do come with some extra cost.
If you purchased the eCommerce package, you already get one included (but optional) sidebar for your ‘Shop Page’.
We can design and add a new graphic to your site. We charge a special low rate for our Web Site customers. Once we get started, we will ask you for your initial opinion of existing designs. This will give us a better idea of the design elements you are looking for. We will refine a selection of graphics to choose from (3-5 typically,) and ask you for your opinion again. Once we have a pretty clear idea of what you are looking for we will present you with a few different design mock-ups for you to choose from. Then we will construct a graphic for your review. Finally, we make adjustments based your input. To keep this service affordable, sometimes we incorporate royalty-free designs elements from 3rd parties.
A new page is constructed and added to your website menu. Typically, these pages are presented to the visitor of your website as a standalone page, but some or all of the content can be added to the Home Page (this is important for content that you definitely want your visitor to see – even on small devices.)
